  • HPS Funding allocation notifications have been communicated to all schools. Any equipment allocations to schools should be arriving soon. 
  •  July 2011 - Thank you to all of the schools that have participated in the HPS Assessment interviews throughout the region.  The information we have gathered will be essential for us to support schools in making sure they are in compliance with the Food & Nutrition Policy for NS Public Schools as our board has outlined in our strategic plan.

  • June 2011 - Breakfast for Learning has created a new Online Grant Application.  Applications are due by June 1, 2011.  Click Here to apply online, if you need any assistance please contact Joy Shears at (902)661-2497.

  • May 2011 - Calling all school educators, students, parents and community partners:  Share what your school community is doing to meet the NS Food Policy by May 20, 2011.  Sharing these success stories will help the province when reviewing and revising the current policy and we can learn new ways to create a health promoting school culture!  Click Here for more information!

  • April 2011 - Family Studies Teachers Association has 2 Grants available to members who teach Family Studies in the classroom at any grade level.  These grants will go towards professional development and classroom resources.  To apply for these grants, click Here!

  • March 2011 - Good Food Hero Comic Contest!  Students from across Canada are invited to create their own comic and enter it into this great new contest.  The top 10 winners from each age group will be featured in the Good Food Comic Book to be printed and distributed across Canada!  For more information click Here!  The deadline for this contest is March 31, 2011.

  • January 2011 - Winter training for Playground Activity Leaders (PALs) has begun!  108 PALs at 9 Elementary schools are learning new winter games to keep everyone active throughout the winter months.
  • October 2010 -Breakfast Program Update:  To date over 25,000 breakfasts have been served throughout the region.  This year we have 76 Breakfast programs running.  Special thanks go out to all of the staff and volunteers who help run the programs, without your support the programs would not run - Thank You!
